This is a movie that didn't promised much and.. in fact, wasn't quite much after all. Still, the music got me, especially the rhythms.
This movie is about a "marching band" university where most of the students are black. They learn how to play instruments as they march, giving wonderful shows on different events, especially sport events.
From all the students there, the focus is one the ones who play drums. It's pleasant to watch, or better said, to hear.

I'll rate it 6/10 for good musical performance.

this one didn't strike me as good movie from the beginning and i had some difficulties watch it to the end. i just finished watching and even though i can't say it's a cinema diamond, the good interpretations of the roles by john cusack and kevin spacey gived it a beautiful aura. clint eastwood is the director and, in a strong way, he gave the movie something of his own. couldn't really sum it up, in order to give a fair presentation, but i'll try anyway... a rich man, a murder, dirty secrets unveiled during the trial, a bright writer, even some voodoo, a silent end.

rate: 7.5/10

With a busy start of a year, it was only the past days that I managed to catch a movie or two. One of them is worth mentioning, the one in the title.
With a blurry course of action, with alternative representations of facts, some from the past, some from the future, this movie gives the impression of anarchy and startles a state of confusion among the watchers. I sat on a brink of disappointment, yet the last 20 minutes or so from the film turn it all around for me.
It's a British movie, with few or none resounding actors, with the old idea of escaping from prison, yet the action could have been more consistently depicted. It's not a must, yet would be interesting for many to watch it.
I saw imdb links started to appear in posts, so I'll do the same.

This movie brought two very clear states of spirit to me: nausea and hate.

The nausea was a result of the horror-like facts and events in the movie, although I assure you it's not a SF film or any kind of monsters other than, of course, People. The movie is maybe to well assembled and that's why even my strong stomach had been hurt. On the other hand, the hate comes against people who make an excuse out of misunderstood or twisted religious principles and, with these as pretexts, commit deeds of incredible evil.

Still, returning to the epic line of the movie, it's about an american family (;)), a woman and a lot of kide most of them her's, a few taken into care, from some other folks, for a weekly sum of money. The woman decides that her kids are more important to her and, suddenly, the two "outsider" girls are to be taught lesson after lesson.

I rate it 7/10 and this consistent vote is because it depicts very neatly a big part of an american reality.

If you're into fantasies, adventure, it's a good film to watch. It has - of course - some predictable areas, but it also brings new ideas to this category. Although not main characters, among the actors in this movie, one can find Tim Robbins and Bill Murray.
It's a well weaved story of a town which exists deep under ground, isolated from any knowledge of another world besides it's own. Some of its inhabitants though still work a theory of getting out on their own, when the food begins to become a problem.]]>

against my expectations from pieces of information gathered before seeing the movie, this film really got to me. although at first i was reluctant to see more than 20 minutes, it got me quickly and i luxuriate in it to the end.
it's about a child that, against all natural laws, grows backwords regarding the age. although newborn, it has all the physical signs of an old man. his mother died at birth and his father did not want to raise a "thing" like that, so he dumped it in front of a house. as the years passed by, he became younger and younger.
his experiences are stunning and, in fact, all the movie is a very interesting and well-put idea. i rate it 8/10]]>

most people were probably very glad hearing that madagascar 2 has been put on screens, but for me.. the joy of hearing this was bigger than the one of actually seeing it. it really lacked the fun that i found in the previous madagascar movie, managing only to smile from time to time thanks to some secondary, but more lively characters like the penguins or king julien. predictable and it got to me the idea that even the producers were not too glad, themselves or in the best mood of film-making. i rate it 3/10]]>

Although with unlimited gore and un-realistic combat scenes, I would say that this movie has written some history. The 2008 "Rambo" is not far from the others, regarding the main core of action, but brings somehow proof of some more evolved technologies, cameras and other stuff like that.

And yes, Stalone did grow old :)
